There are quiet moments that go by quickly in life, moments small and gentle, that most days go by unnoticed but today are captured to freeze the moments in time. Photographing the Zimmerman family from their first baby’s newborn photos to baby number two is a journey I am so thankful to be part of. This outdoor Iowa newborn session was calm and was beautiful to watch as an outsider. Karly fell so perfectly into her roll as mama to two littles and big brother was thrilled to have a new little friend. I loved the neutral color pallet they chose for their laid back front porch outdoor Iowa newborn session. Seeing them cuddled up on the front step, sharing kisses and newborn snuggles was the perfect setting for the session and where they are in life.
Photographing two under two is one of my favorite tasks during newborn sessions. Seeing older siblings interact with their baby brothers and sisters for the first time is so thrilling. It is more tricky than a newborn session with baby number one, but it’s one of my joys during a session to encourage interaction to capture sweet connection. For parents expecting their second or third child, I’ll be releasing a blog post soon about what to expect during your newborn session and how to make it a positive experience for everyone!
