There are just some shoots that give me butterflies and have me smiling from behind the camera. Photographing my lifelong best friend and her wonderful husband David was such an honor. Life has always been sweet with these two as both of our relationships bloomed around the same time. Tony and I even met the night that David asked Colleen to be his girlfriend – way back in 2011.
Through the years we attended classes, choir rehearsals, and sorority meetings with each other and stood by one another as we both got married years later. Here in 2020 and I was thrilled when Colleen shared the sweet news that Colleen and David were expecting their little bundle of joy. Later, Colleen came to me and asked if I would capture their announcement photos and once again I was thrilled to have the opportunity to do so!
I love the blue color palette Colleen and David chose and the cute white onesie to announce their little one coming soon. The connection between these two is so easy to capture especially when showing their love for one another is so natural to them. It was hard to narrow this photoshoot down to a handful of favorites especially with the gorgeous white fences and rows of trees surrounding them. We photographed this back in the Chicago suburbs at a local farm where the natural prairies and white fences steal the show and created the most perfect backdrop for our shoot.
There is nothing that makes me more happy than thinking about their little one and our sweet Emmie Mae growing up with one another and being friends just like Colleen and I became as we’ve grown up over the years. I can’t wait for the many memories to come as our families continue to grow!
